Fluoridation opposition group launches website
WATER DEBATE: Both sides of the fluoridation argument will be given an airing on Monday (April 14) at Ramsey town hall
THE anti-fluoridation Save Our Water group has launched a new website, www.saveourwateriom.com, in response to news that the Department of Health and Social Security is to carry out a random telephone poll on the issue of fluoridation sometime during April and May.Spokesman Kevin Glynn said: 'We believe that only the pro-fluoridation side of the story has been issued by the DHSS. A serious side effect – dental fluorosis – has been consistently downplayed as minor and 'cosmetic'.
'We urge all members of the public, and their elected representatives to visit the site and see the evidence for themselves before this poll takes place.'
Both sides of the argument will be given an airing on Monday (April 14) at Ramsey town hall.
Ramsey Commissioners have invited the public to attend a meeting, starting at 7pm.
Presentations will be given by director of public health Dr Paul Emerson and Kevin Glynn of Save Our Water and there will be an opportunity for questions.
