Does fluoridated water actually benefit area?

Does fluoridated water actually benefit area?
I am in favor of removing fluoride from our water system, but not solely to save the $15,000 the treatment costs. My research from several doctors' reports leads me to believe that drinking fluoride is harmful.

It appears easy to oppose its removal without stating any real evidence of its effectiveness for everyone. John M. Tomiuk's March 19 letter, "Fluoridated municipal water crucial for people of all ages," began with: "Tooth decay is the most common childhood disease in this country today and community water fluoridation is the single most effective public health measure to prevent tooth decay."
Since tooth decay still is a problem after 30 years of fluoridation, is water fluoridation really working effectively? Does it really benefit everyone, even the older citizens?

How about those with health problems, such as low thyroid function? Does this really help those people with that condition? Does it really help those on medications? I think not.
Tomiuk said studies show fluoride reduces tooth decay 20% to 40%. What studies?

Children need supervision when brushing. Does this sound as though you should drink fluoridated water daily?

Why does the state of Michigan no longer require fluoridation?

Thank you for keeping an open mind and thinking about his important issue. Your health may be compromised, and I guess that is the problem in question. If there is doubt, maybe we should leave it out.

I like: "If there is doubt, maybe we should leave it out." let's forget the "maybe we should " though.
