Aldermen slated to meet tonight to hear options

Water and sewer ratepayers will either have to endure a double-digit percentage increase on their water and sewer bills or the city will have to cut nine full-time jobs in the Department of Public Works that would adversely affect several high-profile city services, including winter plowing, according to Mayor Christopher Louras.
In all, Louras said Sunday he is looking at $421,819 in potential savings, including wages, benefits, unemployment benefits due to potential layoffs, as well as cutbacks to some infrastructure....................
One possible saving - Stopping fluoride treatments to drinking water, or $8,000 in savings.
Surely not hasn't he heard that 1$ spent on fluoridation is.................
