The doctor in charge of raising $100,000 to add fluoride to Corning's water system says he's more than half way there. Doctor Thomas Curren has until May 7th to raise the $100,000. Right now, he says he's raised $60,000.
Corning's city council approved putting fluoride in the city's water system to fight tooth decay. At the May seventh city council meeting the mayor says the city will have three options if the goal has not been met.

One would be to rescind the resolution, another would be to use more city funds for the project. If the $100,000 is raised, Coccho says the earliest the fluoridation could take effect is in two years. Doctor Curren tells us he's cautiously confident he will have enough private donations to make the hundred thousand dollar mark by May.
No opposition?
