When you go out for dinner tonight, consider where the bottle of water on the table came from. It may have been shipped from a distant Pacific island, or the slopes of the French Alps, 17,000 kilometres away.
Australians are drinking more imported water than ever. In the past five years imports of still and mineral water have almost doubled, from $13 million in 2002 to $24.5 million in 2006, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics..............
Perhaps if they reduced the chlorine and got rid of the fluoride maybe people would drink less bottled water.
