Australia - Young teeth in state of decay

THE dental health of Queensland children is getting dramatically worse, with the number of missing baby teeth for five-year-olds almost tripling.
In research likely to spark renewed debate about fluoridating the water supply in more towns and cities, the statewide survey of almost 1800 children identified a disturbing decrease in the number of Queensland kids with perfect teeth.
As well as the worrying trend for five-year-olds, the research also found the number of missing teeth in the average six-year-old had doubled and again almost tripled for eight-year-olds.

take a look at southern states, their teeth are no better and they have flouride in their water. Seems logical to just orally take the tablets or liquid. Better still eat a good diet when pregnant and feed your kids healthy food. My kids don't have a problem, I lived without flouride and there's nothing wrong with my 38 year old teeth, nor my husbands who last visited the dentist when he was 12!

Instead of putting fluoride in the water, why not remove the sugar? If kids would drink tap water instead of soft drinks, the whole fluoride debate would be a moot point.

There are just two things that the pro fluoride lobby might like to explain regarding tooth decay in very young children. In times long before the coming of sweet sugary drinks and profiteers selling fast junk food came on the scene, how come fluoride in drinking water wasn't necessary?

Before the coming of white man did aboriginal children have fluoride added to drinking water? Well, If not, come tooth decay didn't claim all their teeth before they reached adulthood?

The fact is today, the human race is exposed to some 47,000 man-made toxic chemicals and as a species we're sicker than ever, unable to survive without taking even more including thousands of man-made drugs. Why add more? We should be winding back the way we pollute our bodies much in the same way global warming is forcing us to reassess the way we pollute the natural world around us.

Nothing surprises me anymore with this Governments Dental Care. They do not have the money to fund extra Dentists but have the $$$$ to give Politicians an extra $18,000,000 in there pay packets.

flouridisation is poison. how about giving the decay figures for those towns that have flouridisation. but you will not cause the figures don't support your case. we just need some truth into this case.
