Australia - Time for action on teeth neglect

Time for action on teeth neglect
By ERIC WISEMAN
CALLS for improvements to local treatment of teeth and jawbone problems have been reinforced by retired dentist Graham Thomas, of Moruya.
Mr Thomas, who has an impressive list of initials after his name - BDS, FRACDS, PhD (Med) - indicating he knows what he's talking about, says he has been horrified at what he has seen in public and private patients' mouths in Eurobodalla Shire.
"It's like being back in the 1950s," he says.
Mr Thomas has welcomed the news that Eurobodalla Shire Council is going to listen to people proposing fluoride should be put into the shire's water supply.
Years ago Eurobodalla Shire Council decided it wouldn't put fluoride into the water supply, but general manager Jim Levy has agreed to arrange for councillors to hear the arguments for fluoridation (Bay Post/Moruya Examiner March 30).

However, Mr Thomas believes that will bring out the anti-fluoridation lobby again!

Let's hope so
