STAFFORD: To D. Martin, of Stafford, and all who believe fluoride is the answer to dental decay in children.
I have deliberately kept my children from ingesting the stuff in tooth paste, salt, foodstuffs or water and they all have beautiful, white sparkling cavity-free teeth.
However, while living in Sydney for just 18 months, and before I was aware of the true nature of this toxic poison, my six-year-old had unsightly spots on his teeth from dental fluorosis.
Thankfully, it was not transferred to his permanent teeth but it usually is. It occurs in children up to six years and affects 40 per cent of the population in fluoridated areas in the USA, according to Google.
The norm is black, ugly stains and it can be seen commonly in NSW people. I have friends with it, so prepare for it, South-East Queensland.
Do you know where this stuff is coming from? Probably the alumina refinery at Gladstone where they cannot otherwise dispose of it due to its extreme toxicity and resistance to decomposition. Are we really informed about this?
