USA - Fluoride flows in South Blount water

Employees of the South Blount Utility District began adding fluoride to the drinking water supply Wednesday, despite a court battle against it.
Utility water treatment plant manager Danny Gregory said on Wednesday the chemical was introduced about 8 a.m.
On Tuesday, Blount County Chancellor Telford Forgety denied a request for an injunction by Linda King.
King filed suit Monday as an individual and as a representative of Citizens for Blount County's Future, described in the lawsuit as the approximately 14,000 utility customers.
The suit sought documentation from the utility showing fluoride is safe to drink.
Fluoride is widely used in drinking water by public utilities nationwide to reduce dental cavities.
