CORNING - A Corning city man is starting a petition to stop city leaders from going through with plans to fluoridate the water.
Kirk Huttleston says the people should vote on whether they want fluoride or not in their water, not council members. He's circulating a petition and says he has about 200 signatures so far.
Huttleston says he knows his petition may not change the outcome, but he continues to stick by his beliefs on why fluoridation should not be added to the drinking water.
“Attention deficit disorder has been on the rise. Alzheimer's has been on the rise. There are a lot of different problems that we have know that we didn't have 50 years ago. And I believe that's linked to fluoride,” says Huttleston.
Corning Mayor Frank Coccho was not available for a comment on Sunday. Last week the city council voted “yes” to go ahead with the fluoridation project after the appropriate funds were confirmed.

  • Huttleston is right on track. We need more people like him to stand up for the people that can't fight for themselves. Frank Coccho is pushing this and the council is letting him him do whatever he'd like. Hopefully people will see this and start electing people in the position that can think for themselves. And the Mayor Coccho needs to be replaced.
