 We finally watched the ITV documentary “Bodies of Evidence” about surgeon Ian Paterson who operated on over 11,000 women for breast cancer - many of them unnecessarily, as they didn’t have cancer & he knew they didn’t.  He lied to them, telling them they had cancer. He also operated on some men for cancer which they didn’t have.  They were put through unnecessary operations & radiotherapy, leaving them with very large scars.

Spire Hospital (private) where he worked from, along with NHS hospitals, wouldn’t take any responsibility at first, saying he just hired one of their rooms.  After decades of campaigning by the women, they at last got their case listened to & an Inquiry was led by Rt. Rev. Graham James, Bishop of Norwich, which found in the women’s favour.  Many of the women remain traumatised & unable to trust doctors.  It was screened on ITV on 15.6.22.
