Kingston looks for public input on fluoridation plan
KINGSTON — The city is seeking public input on a proposal to add fluoride to municipal drinking water.
The city’s strategic plan approved last spring included an initiative to consider fluoride to drinking water.
“Please note that the municipality is neither for nor against fluoridation at this point,” Lanie Hurdle, the city’s chief administrative officer, said in a news release. “We are just collecting information for council’s consideration.”
Residents can submit their thoughts in an online survey on the city’s website or at a couple of open houses, set for Feb. 19 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Rideau Heights Community Centre on MacCauley Street and Feb. 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Invista Centre on Gardiners Road.
