Latest breakthroughs in natural cures

Dr. Al Sears, MD is one of the United States’ leading anti-aging doctors. He has made it his life’s work to challenge conventional medical beliefs and bring his patients the latest breakthroughs in natural cures and remedies to diseases once thought to be incurable.
Dr. Sears takes a fresh, novel approach to patient health and wellness. Our environment and food supply has changed for the worse and this is affecting our health. He helps patients return to their “Native Health” and escape accelerated aging caused by modern toxins, pollutants, preservatives, chemicals and other hormonal threats we unknowingly face every day.    Sri Lankan healthcare expert Ranjit Seneviratne, a former assistant director of the United Nations Food and Agriculture

Organisation (FAO) acts as a Sri Lankan representative for Dr. Sears. In an interview with our sister newspaper the Sunday Times February 19, the 81-year-old Mr. Seneviratne says he has not been affected by the flu, coughs or colds for the past decade, largely because his diet is mainly made up of a mix of edible leaves, vegetables and fruit all grown organically in his home garden at Kollupitiya.    According to Dr. Sears, the US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) recently banned the antibacterial agent triclosan from hand soaps. It has been known for a long time that triclosan causes health problems.

The problem is that the FDA did not go far enough. It still allows triclosan to be used in products that many people use every day. It is used in items ranging from deodorants and cosmetics to cutting boards. In one study, researchers found that there was triclosan in the urine of 75% of people over the age of six.    Dr. Sears says the most troubling part of the FDA ruling is that it still allow triclosan to be used in the most popular toothpastes. Does that mean the FDA determined that triclosan is too dangerous to use on our skin, but it’s OK to use it in our mouths? That does not make sense.    According to the patient-friendly medical specialist, the triclosan use has contributed to the rise in antibiotic resistance and it is also a proven endocrine disruptor. It throws our hormones including our thyroid hormones out of whack.   Researchers have found that even a medium amount of triclosan decreases the thyroid hormone T4 by more than 45 per cent. A larger dose almost doubles the effect to more than 80 per cent.    This can lead to hypothyroidism. When the thyroid is not functioning properly, we experience many unpleasant symptoms -- including fatigue, brain fog, depression, an irregular heartbeat, weight gain, muscle pain, dry skin and thinning hair. If left untreated, hypothyroidism can lead to heart problems, mental health issues, goiter and nerve damage.

Dr. Sears says that unfortunately, triclosan is not the only dangerous toxin in toothpastes. This chemical is found in many of the big brands. One is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) – a registered insecticide linked to cancer. The other is Aspartame -- this fake sweetener converts to formaldehyde in the body and causes tissue damage. The third is Fluoride. Not only does toothpaste fluoride NOT protect against tooth decay, it lowers IQ, increases mouth and throat cancer risk and causes tooth discolouration. It also produces Microbeads – these plastic beads get trapped under the gums and lead to gum disease.

Dr. Sears says he does not use toothpaste anymore. Instead, he brushes his teeth with sea salt. That’s what our ancestors used for thousands of years. In ancient Egypt they invented the world’s first toothpaste more than 5,000 years ago. They used crushed salt, along with mint and other herbs to create a cleaning powder. Sea salt contains trace minerals like calcium, magnesium and sodium. These nutrients strengthen gums and protect against tarter. Over time, they can whiten the teeth.    In Sri Lanka for thousands of years our people have used wood charcoal to clean their teeth. Many village folk still do. According to the alternative daily website, wood charcoal was originally used to purify air and water. Now this remarkable powder is often used as an antidote. It is known to absorb chemicals and toxins in the mouth. We have given you a mouthful. Only reading about it will not be useful. You must do it, act on it.   - See more at: http://www.dailymirror.lk/article/Latest-breakthroughs-in-natural-cures-124470.html#sthash.OstiIi5b.dpuf
