USA - Dentist marks 50th year of practice

Despite his Ohio roots, Dr. James Harrold has been a mainstay in the Rocky Mount community.
The longtime local dentist is in the midst of celebrating 50 years in dentistry.

..............Harrold said it’s vital to continue to educate people about taking care of their teeth such as getting regular cleanings to avoid gum disease or tooth decay, urging parents to steer away from giving their children soft drinks, start bringing their children to the dentist at age 3 and educating pregnant women to drink fluoridated water because fluoride is effective for preventing cavities.
“I tell them to drink fluoridated water because their babies’ teeth will start to be stronger in the womb,” Harrold said. “I’ve never consider what I do as a job but as a mission to educate and help people have a better life.”
