A fresh study has confirmed that people are reluctant to change their minds and adapt their views, even when new information has been presented. This holds true even if they stand to lose money.
The research from the University of Iowa is based on previous studies indicating that people are particularly likely to stick to their original viewpoint when they’ve had to write their beliefs down– a phenomenon known as the ‘explanation effect’, which also affects future actions........
I suppose it applies to us who are against fluoridation but we are right of course.

Bill, I don't think it does apply to most of us anti-fluoridationists. Because I'm pretty sure that most of us thought fluoride was "good" before we became enlightened by the facts! Certainly Dr. Connett. Me too. Didn't you?

That's a valid point Chris, you are right. I did believe in fluoride after seeing a Horizon program about the benefits of painting fluoride direct on the teeth. It nearly killed my son who vomited all afternoon after treatment. That was 30 odd years ago.
