Excellent short presentation from FFNZ exposing the myth that fluoridation is the most effective way to promote oral health. When wrote to Public Health England informing them that Childsmile has proven to be a hugely successful standalone intervention without fluoridation, they tried to tell me that targeted schemes like Childsmile only work alongside fluoridation.
These figures speak for themselves, demonstrating that Childsmile not only achieves much better results than fluoridation, but that fluoridation may have a negative impact on oral health, as suggested by the increasing decay rates in New Zealand. As we know, the same is true in fluoridated Ireland, Australia and America.
