USA - San Marcos Voters Could Drop Fluoride From Drinking Water Supply
SAN MARCOS, Texas -- San Marcos voters could decide to end the practice of adding fluoride to their drinking water.
Water fluoridation is one of two propositions on the November ballot. Prop 2 clarifies the process for citizen started charter amendment elections.
The group Fluoride Free San Marcos organized the petition effort to get dropping fluoride on the ballot, and now they’re working explain to voters why they feel it’s important.
“There’s never been a randomized controlled trial on this product they put in our water, they don’t know for sure that it’s doing anything good for us and they certainly don’t know whether or not it is harming us," said Sam Brannon, Fluoride Free San Marcos.
The American Dental Association supports the practice of adding fluoride to drinking water. They say it reduces the number of cavities in children and adults.
