‘Dental milk’ plans revived after deferral
Plans to serve up milk with fluoride added to it at primary schools across Blackpool are back on the agenda.
Councillors will sit down to discuss the plans in December – almost two years after putting off a decision because a study in the North East showed higher than expected levels of fluoride in children using the ‘dental milk’.
It could be introduced in a bid to tackle tooth decay, although regular milk would still be available for those who don’t want it, the council said.
Coun Eddie Collett, the cabinet member responsible for reducing health inequalities at Blackpool Council, said: “Around 40 per cent of our five-year-olds have tooth decay and each year around 400 Blackpool children are admitted to hospital for tooth extraction.
“We are reviewing our oral health strategy and considering a range of interventions including the possibility of providing fluoridated milk through schools.”
Public Health England (PHE) said it is ‘unaware of any scientific evidence showing dental milk is a cause of ill health’ following its study last year, but said those who have regular fluoride tablets or rinse should not drink it.

Dr Doug Cross, from UK Councils Against Fluoridation, warned: “Fluoride allows aluminium to accumulate in the brain over a long period of time and it’s an environmental cause of Alzheimer’s.
“Why would anybody give children milk with fluoride in it? It’s totally mad.”
Dental consultant at PHE Melanie Catleugh said: “Poor oral health can affect children’s and young people’s ability to sleep, eat, speak, play and socialise with other children.”

These disgusting creatures at Blackpool Council have received directly from me' scientific papers from around the world that proves the serious health problems associated with the neuro toxin and industrial waste product Fluoride.
They backed off last time but now are blatantly lying that they don't know of health problems.
The head of public health Arif Rajpura is by his own words targeting poorer children through his initial report ironically through his fairness commission. (Talk about direct discrimination).
They say they don't know of health problems when I have personally informed them. They are liars.

This is a relatively easy proposal to upset: stand outside primary schools in the poorer areas of Blackpool and hand out leaflets which warn parents about the stupidity of fluoridated milk. Their permission has to be sought before their children are given dental milk. I've not yet seen any research from other schools in the North of England which give children fluoridated milk which demonstrates that the teeth of children is better is they drink dental milk - because there isn't any! Since such research doesn't exist then there's no proof and Blackpool Council would do well to wait for the proof before embarking on this course of action. Moreover, since there's calcium in the milk, the fluoride will form a strong bond with the calcium in the stomach and this means that neither calcium nor fluoride are bioavailable. Instead of the usual 50% of the fluoride being excreted, it's more likely to be 100%. This is thoroughly bad news for malnourished children since they are being denied the goodness of the calcium which their peers receive in ordinary milk - not that that's much good either because it's been pasteurised and homogenised but at least it's better than dental milk. My opinion of dental milk schemes is that they are sponsored by the same charlatans who persuaded the fairy-tale King to shell out for a new suit of clothes. If anyone reading this is prepared to pay for the printing, travel costs and B&B, I'm more than happy to travel to Blackpool to hand out leaflets. I can be reached at wmaf@live.co.uk.
