Australia - Echo letter - Fluoride’s health benefits spurious

Greg Lynn has listed the World Health Organisation, and a whole host of other organisations that have endorsed fluoride. That doesn’t make it okay or conclusive.

Considering the powers that be said DDT, asbestos, endosulfan, thalidomide, testing nuclear weapons in places where people lived, organochlorines, mercury in your mouth, fracking, the list goes on, yet all these practices have now been proven to be not such a good idea.

In some cases extremely harmful to your health. If you drink one glass of fluoridated water, it takes seconds for the bulk of it to be in your stomach. In his letter he does not address how it affects the rest of your body.

Fluoride is a toxic chemical. Scientists recently have expressed how important gut flora is to your health, and how important acidopholous and living cultures are to your general health.

If we introduce chemicals into that mix, we are killing off some of that flora. In processed food they put chemicals (numbers) to give those foods a long shelf life. To eat a lot of food with preservatives is not good for your health, and yet I note some health organisations think this is okay.

We can take our reading glasses to the supermarket and read the labels, that is the great choice we can all make. Fresh foods without preservatives are living foods and I suggest that they are ‘alive’ foods, and that is what we should eat for good health.

He quotes Professor John Attia, professor of medicine and clinical epidemiology, University of Newcastle, who questions a peer reviewed paper. Why hasn’t Professor Attia done a peer reviewed study on fluoride? Then Lynn’s letter goes on to say that Australias’ NHMRC continually assesses scientific evidence on water fluoridation.

Well if Greg Lynn and all the councillors who voted this in are so sure it is safe, why do they need to do more studies on whether it is safe? All that he says in his letter is inconclusive. I note that on Dentitex toothpaste (which has fluoride in it) it says ‘Do not use this product on children 6 years of age or less’. And ‘Do Not Swallow’.

On another note, this is about community. Do you want to be a part of a truthful, solid, vibrant, inclusive community? I heard a councillor raving on about what a fantastic community this is. If you never gave the community a choice regarding fluoride in our water, then that community is fractured.

Fluoride is not necessarily going to fix tooth decay. We need re-education about sugar in our diet (and drinking sugary drinks). This is a good place to start. Hipocrates said ‘your medicines will be your food, and your food your medicine’. This is very wise. He didn’t mention toxic fluoride. Because it is diluted it is less toxic, but needless to say, it still has got some toxicity in it and this is what has been forced on the people of Lismore.
