U.S., Dec. 30 -- More than 40 percent of children below 6 years are the victims of tooth decay, according to dental experts in the US.
The dental experts at Nationwide Children's Hospital recommend that the children up to the age of 3 years should be taken to dentists to avoid dental problems in them. This hospital sees around 35,000 patients and many of them are below 3 years.
The newly revised guidelines by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's also suggest that infants of 6 to 12 months old should be taken to dentists.
According to findings of dental experts, people who suffered tooth decay in their baby teeth during childhood were more likely to carry forward the disease in their permanent teeth.
