BPA Exposure from Dental Sealants
Kids may be exposed to small amounts of bisphenol-A (BPA) from dental sealants, say researchers. CNN reports that tens of millions of U.S. children are exposed to the toxic chemical and endocrine disruptor called BPA when they receive dental sealants. The study, published in Pediatrics, claims that the sealants, which are recommended to prevent tooth and gum decay, have derivatives of BPA that metabolize with saliva to form actual BPA. The BPA exposure lasts for up to three hours after the dental sealant is applied. The lead author of the paper, Dr. Abby Fleisch of Children’s Hospital in Boston, indicates it's unclear how much BPA kids typically absorb from the dental sealants. Overall, the researchers believe that the benefits of the sealants outweigh the risks.
Poison with fluoride now BPA why not treat the cause of not only dental decay but many other illnesses far too much sugar in the diet.
