I'd like to reply on the controversy in Your say about the difference in the effect of fluoride which occurs naturally in some water supplies and artificial fluoridation.

The amount of fluoride which is added artificially to tapwater is around 10 times higher than that which naturally normally occurs in some UK water supplies. This could be one reason why more harmful effects seem to be caused by artificial fluoridation schemes. However, in certain places in India, such as the Punjab and Hyderabad, which have a high natural fluoride content, there are photos of badly crippled people with deformed limbs from natural fluoride overdose. (Lancet, 1973 ii, 877)

The fluoride which occurs naturally is calcium fluoride, whereas the type added in fluoridation schemes is fluorosilicic acid, which is toxic waste from phosphate fertilizer factory chimney scrubbers.

This is also contaminated with arsenic, lead, mercury and other industrial wastes.

This is not of pharmaceutical grade, unlike the fluoride added to toothpaste.

A Wills
