UK - Daily Echo - Saying 'no' to those 'jollies'

Saying 'no' to those 'jollies'
WITH an election looming perhaps in view of the recent expenses scandal, we should be requesting a similar enlightenment on the expenses of our councillors.
How certain high ranking members can sit on eight different councils and officiate at each is really beyond the realms of possibility, yet expenses are claimed for all.
This cannot continue now that the Government and indeed the country, US are absolutely stony broke! they should be honest and above board about their claims and expenditure and it should be sent to every taxpayer in their respective communities. (Stop laughing at the back there!).

Their private salary should remain just that private, but any spending or claims from the council purse should be available for all to see at the end of each financial year, and before I am shouted down by those councillors I do not mean just lumped together under 'other services', I have found this particular 'umbrella' gets larger each year. Our current council!
Lib Dems are very good at getting their 'mugshots' next to any event that scores them Brownie points, even those in which other parties have been the real operators in getting things put right! We have a last chance in the next election to make our voices heard loud and clear. We have said NO to the EU, no to FLUORIDE, NO to massive building programmes etc so now is the time to say NO to any more inflated expenses claims and 'jollies' at our expense.
MOLLY BENNETT ( UKIP member).
