Topical treatments by dentists may be helpful, but drinking fluorided water has a sordid history of failure to improve children's teeth. Kentucky is the top state in the U.S. for the number of people on fluoridation, but is the worst state in terms of missing teeth and cavities. Dentists and newspapers in Boston, New York, and Detroit, which have long been fluoridated, all report a crisis in the number of cavities in children, particularly poor children. Even in Grand Rapids, the first city in the nation to fluoridate, dentists say it is not unusual to see children with 8 to 10 cavities. The truth is that it is the standard of living, which means a good diet, and proper dental hygiene that produces good teeth and not fluoride. Another awful truth is that research studies show that fluoridation reduces IQ and increases bone cancer in children. A research report in April confirms two other studies that children drinking fluoridated water have over 5 times the risk of bone cancer.

You didn't dig deep enough if you came up with this conclusion. What about all of the fluoride now contaminating nearly all of our foods because we're putting fluoridated water on everything? And, you don't have to go to a "foreign" country to see the dismal failure of fluoridation. Go check out Kentucky. They have been nearly 100% "optimally fluoridated" for many years, and have one of the highest rates of dental caries and toothlessness in the entire US. If you want fluoride, be my guest. However, don't force me to bathe, drink and cook with it just because you want to medicate yourself with it. Also, you should look into the known fact that fluoride creates and exacerbates inflammation, including gum disease.
