The issue of what goes into our water is stirring a debate in one Valley town.
Joan Hulvey, who works in Timberville, is concerned about fluoride in drinking water. She's holding a pair of informational meetings about the issue.
The town of Timberville is discussing whether to stop fluoridation of their water.
Supporters point to decades of research saying that fluoridation has been effective at reducing cavities in kids and adults. Opponents say it can be harmful to certain groups, including young babies and people with kidney diseases.
"I'm wondering, you know, what about the people who don't realize they have kidney impairment," says Hulvey. "They're still more at risk."
Hulvey will hold another meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Timberville Community Center. The town's council is expected to discuss the issue again Thursday at their meeting.
