The Chairman of the Isle of Man Medical Executive Committee says it fully backs plans to fluoridate the Island's water supply.
Bob Fayle feels there has been a lot of anti-fluoridation publicity recently and the association wants to put the medical profession's views across to the public and politicians. The Isle of Man Medical Society, of which the MEC is part, has sent a letter to Tynwald Members outlining its opinions.
DHSS Leaflets were recently sent out to Island households and a telephone poll is being conducted, with the DHSS currently awaiting the results.
According to Mr Fayle, research shows water fluoridation is a safe and effective way of preventing tooth decay:

They would say that - they have to say that.
A doctor has just joined the new Hampshire Against Fluoridation (UK)by sending money but said he cannot help any other way. We know why he's too scared to go against the official stance of the CMO.
