Australia - Ballarat to get fluoridated water

Ballarat to get fluoridated water

The Victorian Government says Ballarat's water will be fluoridated.
Yesterday, the Department of Human Services announced it was sending a booklet about fluoride to all Ballarat homes, in central Victoria.
This is the first step the Government is taking to educate residents about the dental benefits of having fluoride added to the town water supply.
Victoria's chief health officer Dr John Carnie says a date for when fluoridation will begin still needs to be set.
"Even if there is an announcement there is a lead-in period which can be quite a number of months, because the actual process of adding fluoride to the water is an engineering process which can take some time because they've got to build the plant and have it commissioned and so on," he said.

And the booklet will be completely impartial and factual?
