Fluoride considered for Ballarat water

The Victorian Government has started investigating whether fluoride should be added to Ballarat's water supply.
Ballarat residents, in central Victoria, are about to get a booklet from Department of Human Services about having fluoride added to the city's drinking water.
Victoria's chief health officer, Dr John Carnie, says the fluoridation of water is the most effective and socially equal way of providing all community members with the benefits of fluoride.

Health Services in the Ballarat region have been campaigning for the introduction of fluoride for several months because they believe it will improve dental health.
