According to Diamond Springs- and Portola-based dentists Dr. Mitch Goodis and Dr. Rina Ambaram, it is important for parents to understand that the health of their young child’s teeth does matter.
“Most of the disease is preventable,” Ambaram said.
• Do not give your child a baby bottle at night.
• In between meals, serve your child only water.
• “That constant flushing their mouth with sugar is destroying kids’ teeth,” Goodis said.
• As soon as teeth grow in, be sure to brush or clean on a daily basis.
Not like the doting grandma with her two very young grandchildren yesterday buying two bags of sweets for them. Going off so proudly to have had the pleasure of treating them. Will she be there to hold their hands when they have their first fillings?
