Health Canada is warning consumers against using a counterfeit toothpaste after further testing indicates it may contain another potentially harmful bacteria.
Authorities said Friday that the counterfeit toothpaste falsely labelled as Colgate Fluoride Toothpaste, which was flagged on June 29, could pose a serious health risk.
Those who have the toothpaste are advised to stop using it immediately, throw away their toothbrush and dispose of it in a sealed bag.
The product was sold widely in "Everything for a Dollar" stores with the packaging containing misspellings such as "isclinically" "SOUTH AFRLCA" and "South African Dental Assoxiation."
In addition, three more toothpaste brands have been added to a growing list of Chinese products Health Canada authorities say contain a toxic agent commonly found in anti-freeze.
There are 24 toothpaste brands from China that authorities believe were sold in Canada containing the toxic chemical diethylene glycol.
Consumers are asked to call Health Canada at 1-866 225-0709 for more information.
Seems to be in all countries except here?
