Reader's letter: Calls to halt fluoridation

One wonders what it would take to get Cumbria County Council to respond to a perfectly reasonable demand to remove fluoride from our drinking water, given Allerdale and Copeland Councils are against it?

Is there something about our drinking water that they haven’t told us?

What is it about our teeth they are worried about?

Why hasn’t the gospel of fluoride spread to other boroughs – isn’t that what advances of science are supposed to do?

I cringe whenever Paul Carr writes to these columns from Fluoride Free Cumbria.

He is very graphically descriptive, and “scraping chimney linings from phosphate factories” to dose however-minuscule-an-amount of fluoride to put in my tea is not on.

I add my voice to his demand: state your case Cumbria County Council or remove this ‘poison’ from our water.

R Hall
