A life story from Bronx, N.Y. woven into the tapestry of Muskoka

Mike Napolitano died on Feb. 21, at 96, his incredible colourful life story is the stuff novels are made of.

.......Mike was also an activist and in his later years took on the fight to ban fluoride in municipal water. He wrote to legislators and newspapers. In one of his opinion letters written to Muskoka Region, he was clear about his reasons for advocacy.
“War, as you all know, has killed millions of people, many innocent women and children, cows, horses, dogs, cats, birds, etc. As a soldier in Europe many of those images are burned into my mind. Heavy artillery is considered the most destructive force in the field of battle. Consequently, we were constantly being bombed by air to try to stop us. I came home so sick of watching and causing people to die that I've dedicated my life to exposing any misleading propaganda or position that affects my fellow man and consider fluoride no less deadly than our bombs, except fluoride does it more silently and slowly,” he wrote.
