USA - Writer: Great job, Arab Water Works board
Great job, Arab Water Works. Now, there is still fluoride in our water, but only a low level of naturally occurring fluoride. Because to actually take the fluoride out of our water, AWW would have to purchase a reverse osmosis system similar to the $3 million system that a neighboring community, West Morgan – East Lawrence Water Authority, had to purchase to get the hazardous (fluoride by-products) PFOA & PFOS out of their water.
When so many people are afraid to question any form of authority or to do any research for themselves – that’s not good. Our local city government says it has no idea and has to take other peoples’ advice on the subject of water fluoridation, but refuses to listen to their award-winning water company’s advice. When there are other people in our community who are affected by the industrial chemical by-product fluoride but are afraid to say anything for fear of being personally attacked – that’s not good.
When there are dentists and doctors in our community who are aware of the dangers of fluoride, but are also afraid to speak out for fear of being called quacks and their reputation tarnished – that’s not good. When the main stream news media refuses to report that there are controversies in almost every state of this country going on right now about fluoride – usually involving someone like myself speaking out because it is harming them, only to get attacked and labeled as a conspiracy theorist, paranoid or a quack according to the fluoride promoters – that’s not good.
We all need to give credit to the two AWW board members for doing the research, making an informed decision, then standing strong by that decision. They never wavered, they endured pressure from the city and fluoride lobbyist, they were ridiculed, and their names were slandered. But through it all they remained professional, never submitting to name calling or slandering.
At least, there are a few good men left in the world, men who care about other people and not just concerned with making money.
The 13,000 customers AWW is accountable to, appreciates all your efforts in keeping us supplied with clean and safe drinking water. Thank you, AWW board members Mr. Ben Hornsby, Mr. Bruce Smalley, and AWW manager Mr. Ted Hyatt.
Apparently some people think that our government has never gotten anything wrong. I guess they are unaware of lead, asbestos or tobacco. I wonder how many of you would be surprised to learn that way back when, some dentists and doctors actually promoted tobacco use?
We were also assured that these substances were not toxic or harming our health. Most of Europe banned lead before 1940 it only took the U.S. until 1978 to do so.
You would think that asbestos is banned in the U.S. but it is not. Some applications have been banned, but it can still be used in clothing, gaskets, brake pads, roof coatings, roofing felt to name a few uses still accepted by our government.
As long as our government and media are controlled by industries, which then in turn control what is being taught, or until the mountain of evidence is accepted that the industrial by-product chemical fluoride is a neurotoxin that messes with our brains, endocrine disruptor (messing with our hormones), damages enzymes (causing auto-immune diseases) you had better educate yourselves.
I would love for everyone to go to the EPA website and actually read what the EPA says or doesn’t say about fluoride. Then go to the public comments section.
Dr. Kathleen Theiseen was on the 2006 National Research Council committee on fluoride. She has a lot to say on the subject. Make sure to read page nine where she makes reference to the “susceptible subpopulation. She also gives examples of studies that prove people have fluoride intolerances. Also the NRC’s committee of fluoride toxicology unanimously concluded “fluoride appears to have the potential to initiate or promote cancers.”
Also go to FAN petition link and read: Alyson Wissinger of Richmond, S.C., who states: “I am signing because I have permanent health issues from taking fluoroquinolone antibiotics.”
This and many more across the country are saying the same thing. I realize this is not medical proof but there has to be something to it. Where there is smoke, there is sure to be fire and there is a lot of smoke. Maybe the instigators that pressured the city to rush into and keep wasting taxpayers’ money on a frivolous lawsuit should have to pay the bill – the three dentists and the two doctors, along with the city attorneys. Never mind that PFOA and PFOS, which are mainly fluoride ions. Never mind it has been proven to contain other containments such as lead, aluminum, arsenic, and others. Never mind that the EPA states they cannot pump it into a lake, pond, ocean or the air.
If you were to put a trace amount in a lake, pond or ocean it would be illegal. But if you still feel the need for the industrial by-product chemical fluoride you can go to the doctor, get a prescription, and leave the rest of us out of it.
