Sinn Fein Councillor calls for the removal of fluoride in public water

Sinn Fein Councillor Colm Carthy is calling for the removal of fluoride from our public water system. Ireland is the only EU country, and one of only two in the world, with a national mandatory public water fluoridation policy.

Irish Water says the HSE is ultimately responsible for the fluoridation of water.

Councillor Colm Carthy says studies have shown that too much fluoride in water can damage teeth.
