Australia - Days numbered for fluoride in Gladstone’s water supply

AT THE next general council meeting, the continuation of adding fluoride to Gladstone's drinking water will be addressed.
FUTURE OF FLUORIDE: Hot issue comes to ahead. The controversial issue was a hot topic during the most recent council elections.
A Notice of Motion will be tabled by councillor Kahn Goodluck and will call upon Gladstone Area Water Board to stop adding fluoride to the drinking water.
The notion will advise GAWB that the council "has decided that it no longer wants to continue with the practice of having fluoride added to the council's drinking water and would like that practice to cease as soon as possible."
"Council authorises the CEO to negotiate the removal process and end date with the Gladstone Area Water Board."
In May it was reported in the Observer that mayor Matt Burnett would vote to remove fluoride from Gladstone's water supply.
"My personal position is that it should be removed from the water supply," Cr Burnett said.
"If it does come to the table, and I have no doubt that it will, I will vote to remove it."
The notion will be presented at the general meeting on Tuesday next week at 9am.
