USA - Stop adding hydrofluorosilicic acid to our water
Editor, the Advocate:
You just swallowed what? Hydrofluorosilicic acid? Are you losing your mind? Well, in fact you are; this acid is being added to our water in the name of fluoride, which comes in several forms, and this form is bad for our brains, makes our bones brittle, and it blocks the absorption of iodine that we need for our thyroid.
So we can wind up with hypothyroidism, gain weight and have low energy. We shouldn't swallow any fluoride, especially this one.
Here is what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has to say about this acid:
It's toxic; we don't want any of it at all, and even the better forms in toothpaste, stannous and sodium fluoride, aren't meant to be swallowed. Babies shouldn't have fluoridated water in their formula.
You, too, can find this information by visiting cdc.gov/niosh/ipcsneng/neng1233.html.
Bryan/College Station has recently ceased this practice of adding hydrofluorosilicic acid to their water, as have many other cities across the country. It's a free improvement! It won't cost us a thing to just stop adding this into our water!
For more information, you can go to the Fluoride Action Network's website, fluoridealert.org. Then go to victoriatx.org/government.
Our city manager, mayor and councilmen are all listed there, and they are waiting for our comments. They can't read our minds!
