glass of waterNo matter how you look at it, we’re all chasing a beauty ideal. There’s nothing wrong with that, especially where skin is concerned. Beautiful skin is an instant upgrade to any face or body. That said, achieving flawless skin can be a challenge, and aside from environmental factors that are constantly threatening to age or damage the epidermis, so much of what we consume can wreak havoc on our skin.
We’re aware of the obvious things: a diet that consists purely of junk food will do your skin no justice; however, imagine something as simple as a bottle of water or toothpaste causing acne around your jawline. The culprit: fluoride.
Can you imagine, great teeth terrible skin? Recently, a member of my family developed cystic acne out of the blue along her jawline. After a process of elimination, she discovered that the assailant was fluoride. This is a pretty sensitive topic because fluoride is lauded as one of the 20th century’s major achievements. Fluoridation of tap water has contributed significantly to the decline of tooth decay over the past 60 years.
There’s a little bit of fluoride in just about everything; it’s in the soil, plants, and even the air we breathe. Its effects on dental health are indisputable, but that’s where the argument starts. Although many believe fluoride is generally harmless, there are many groups who believe fluoride is toxic. Most of us are generally oblivious to the effects of fluoride, unless you have a fluoride sensitivity.
Here are the top five symptoms of Fluoride sensitivity:
6. Acne near the mouth that spreads across the chin and cheeks.
7. Canker sores in the mouth
8. Stomach aches, constipation or diarrhea
9. Chronic fatigue
10. Muscular aches or muscle weakness
The bad news is these symptoms apply to so many ailments. The best way to find out if you have a fluoride sensitivity is to eliminate your contact with fluoride.
