Just now iodine is crucial, as thyroid health, especially in young people is under threat from radioactivity already in the environment from Fukushima, and the huge threat of further contamination as they try to move damaged fuel rods. It would be a bad health decision to administer fluoride at this point just for some perveived benefit to dental health, at the cost of thyroid health. If this goes ahead it will be unjustifiable and a great threat to our health.
In any case enforced, random dosage medication is ethically wrong.
