USA - Kentucky's kids teeth at risk
EDGEWOOD - In recent years, Northern Kentucky health officials have encountered more children with cavities in a state known for some of the worst teeth in the nation.
To combat this, the Northern Kentucky Health Department is partnering with 11 local dentists to offer free dental screenings and provide affordable dental sealant and fluoride varnish to children in Boone, Kenton, Campbell and Grant counties.
The health department has stepped up its educational efforts on the need for good oral health - both in its clinics and in school settings. Parents who ignore recommendations to treat their children's tooth decay also are getting follow-up letters advising them to the health department to let them know if those problems have been addressed.....

Children hold our country's future. Let's not let their teeth go astray. It's good that the health department furthered their efforts to teach people the importance of good oral health. Change starts from oneself, and education is a way of empowering a person to make that change.
