Fluoride call criticised
The Timaru Herald (New Zealand)
June 27, 2011
A call for water fluoridation to improve dental health is being labelled "spin doctoring" by an anti-fluoridation group. Progressive Party leader Jim Anderton released an extensive dental policy this week which endorsed free dental healthcare for all New Zealanders. Mr Anderton also suggested a levy on sugary fizzy drinks, as well as nationwide fluoridation of water. However, the New Zealand Fluoridation Information Service, an anti-fluoridation group formed this year, claims Mr Anderton has his facts wrong and was "spin doctoring".
