I think I would be hesitant about cheap toothpaste as there was a lot outrage about fake toothpaste from China a little while ago. Whole house filters are beyond most people to purchase. A Brita filter is good enough if you are not in a fluoridated area for drinking water. Mercola has a lot of filter information on his web page http://waterfilters.mercola.com/
Many advertisements are saying this and that about their brands; but it's really up to us which toothpaste to use - something that we know and really works. The question of fluoride is beside the point to some extent; what's important is that we're aware of what we're using.

My kid loves this stuff - it's fairly pricey so if you can find decent prices anywhere let us know!
I've been looking into whole house filters recently - can you recommend any companies on that front?
Keep up the good work.
