Health bosses consider adding fluoride to Bristol's water
Saturday, August 22nd 2009 13:52
Health bosses in Bristol are considering putting fluoride in the city's drinking water.
They say that, to date a firm decision about whether to put fluoride in our water has not been made.
But they have commissioned a report into it.
Scientific research shows that adding fluoride to the water supply prevents tooth decay, but some say that with other sources of the chemical, including toothpaste, it can be easy to get too much.
The process is still at the early stages, but if approved, it would affect people living in the whole of the former Avon area.
