UK Against Fluoridation

Why are so many dentists so ignorant of the facts about fluoridation?

Why are so many dentists so ignorant of the facts about fluoridation?

A letter sent by a dentist to an MP with these qualifications BDS.,LDS.,DDPH, MA, claimed that he had studied fluoridation in considerable detail for many years.
In his letter he wrote.
"Outside this country, natural water fluoridation occurs in very many parts of the World, in some, the concentration is well above this level and as far as I know, no harm to the health of people or animals consuming this water has been reported."

Even a brief search will find UNICEF reporting:

"in Khadaubujurg village of Dhar district, as it contained fluoride in excess of permissible limits. Here too children suffer from fluorosis. Santosh, 11, walks with great difficulty. Rangita, a little girl has her legs and arms badly bent and affected. Madan, who is slightly older, is already suffering from advanced stage of fluorosis."
Rest assured I have informed the MP by sending him horrific pictures of Indian villagers crippled with fluorosis.

  • Dentists seem to be the least educated about the harm fluoride can do to the body. Yet the media has knighted them "fluoride experts" the go-to place for fluoride advice. Of course, dentists are not trained in toxicology and don't have a clue what fluoride is doing to the rest of the body. This makes them good foot soldiers in the fluoridation campaigns. They don't even know they are liars.

I started to collect news reports carrying misinformation by dentists and other fluoridationists.

There has actually been studies done showing ignorance in the dental profession to fluoride science. For example: http://tinyurl.com/Yoder

  • Very ignorant comments - I wonder how many dentists
you have talked to and what the toxicology questions you had.
There are clear for and against arguments for water fluoridation and each case needs to be addressed and consulted with the local residents.
Dentists should be very knowledgable on fluoride so ask them - if they don't know the answer ask them to find it out.

  • The trouble with that suggestion is that the dentist's information comes from the BFS and the BDA or the the CDO who will not accept any evidence that fluoridation maybe harmful. They even stress that mild fluorosis is beneficial. As for consultation of the people that is a joke, in Southampton 72% of the 10,000 who responded to the consultation were against it. Despite that the SHA board voted 100% for it.
