THE BARWON Freedom from Fluoridation group will rally in Geelong tomorrow.
Kicking-off at 11am at Geelong Town Hall the group plans to march through city streets, ending near corner of Ryrie and Yarra Sts.
The group is protesting against the introduction of fluoride to the water supply on June 22.
``The rally is to notify all parties, State Government, the local region MPs, Barwon Water and Barwon Health, the news services of Geelong and Victoria and the public, that the outrage and disgust at having chemical water fluoridation forced upon the people of the region is not going away,'' group spokesman David McRae said.
Mr McRae said he expected hundreds to turn out for the protest, despite short notice and little advertising.
``Citizens hold State Government and Barwon Water equally responsible for any and all health problems that arise as a result of the increased intake of toxic fluorosilicic acid, in uncontrolled daily amounts,'' he said.``Talking to people on the street reveals that people are angry and deeply upset by the arrogant letter sent to them by the Victorian Department of Human Services last week, telling that fluoridation will commence on June 22, no ifs or buts, and no choice by the people.''
Mr McRae said the `Mandate to Stop Fluoridation' petition was being signed by hundreds of locals when the group set up its `Freedom from Fluoride Embassy' in Malop Street.
