Here is one quick way to trim the fat from the City of Toronto's budget: stop contaminating our municipal tap water with fluoride.
It is has no significant health benefits in the municipal water supply, it damages the body's immune system when ingested, and reports show fluoride may leach lead and other toxic contaminants in the water supply system while travelling toward our taps.
Why would the city knowingly take these risks with the health of its citizens? If the city has any concern for our public health or at least their budget expenditures, they should stop the costly addition of fluoride to our tap water immediately until a complete investigation is undertaken regarding the abundant health risks of water fluoridation.
