Mr Springborg, remember when you told the government “fess up” over something? Well I want you to “fess up” now.
“The Beattie-Bligh Government uses experts who claim recycled water is safe, but they are also deliberately ignoring other experts over its safety. Queenslander’s health is too precious to ignore these scientific concerns.”

It is a well know fact that you support water fluoridation. There was only about six of you that voted for it three years ago. It was introduced as a Private Members Bill and you have never run on a platform of water fluoridation – nor has the ALP! You had no support for the Bill other than the ADA. The ADA have a financial interest – the Bligh government gave them $200,000 and lots of free publicity – they also get sponsorship from toothpaste companies.

The World Health Organisation use reports that have been paid for by the chemical companies, the toothpaste companies and others. Does this sound a “bit farfetched”?

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulates silicofluorides in drugs, toothpastes and cosmetics – but doesn’t when it is added to public water supplies, foods and drinks? The TGA regulates tampons but not condoms? Well tampons go INSIDE your body and condoms go on the OUTSIDE of the body – make any sense? Who funds the TGA! Not the government! The Food Standards Authority recently did a NUTRITIONAL study on fluoridated tap water and fluoridated bottled water in NZ with the intent to give water bottlers permission to add silicofluorides to bottled water. The American Dental Association have issued a warning NOT TO MIX BABY FORMULA WITH FLUORIDATED WATER – have you heard that from our ADA? The Food Standard nutters have stated that it is perfectly safe to mix formula using fluoridated water – WHO IS CONTROLLING THIS STUFF?

The question that I ask is: Which experts are advising you? Which experts have convinced you that - fluoridation of OUR public water supply is ethical and therapeutic, fluoridation of OUR water – WILL DO NO HARM – to us, to our children or our grandchildren (many yet to be conceived – if we are still able to do so), our pets, our wild life and our environment. How many of your reports go past dental fluorosis and teeth, how many of them look holistically?

I call on you to name names, publish the names, their qualifications, their industry associations and their reports – have them published in the National and Local press (they will always run pro-fluoride stories!!).

I don’t believe that you can substantiate your support for fluoridation. The ALP will surely accuse you of the biggest “backflip” in history. Lawrence – there were only six (6) of you that voted for it when it was first presented – there was 72 that voted against the Bill and then changed their minds when Bligh dictated her will to the ALP Members.
