Canadian activists urge removal of fluoride in water; experts disagree

Studies in India and China have demonstrated that fluoride in drinking water can lower thyroid function and damage a child's IQ, according to anti-fluoride activists. Members of the Fluoride Action Network and Citizens for a Safe Environment in Canada want fluoride removed from water supplies, but a prominent dentist refutes the assertions. "They've brought together six top experts who have carefully looked at all of the details and they have come to a very clear result that there is not a link that would suggest fluoride is going to cause the problems that some people would suggest," said Dr. Larry Levin.
