USA - Fluoridated water returns to Kansas town

PARSONS, KS — For the first time in about six years, residents here are receiving fluoride in their water, according to a March 6 story in The Parsons Sun.
This city’s fluoridation program was disrupted in 2002 because of a design flaw in the water treatment plant, the article said. The fluoridation system had a ventilation and pump problem. As a result, fumes leached out during the fluoridation process and damaged the interior, Derek Clevenger, director of public works, explained in the story.
Because of other, more pressing issues at the water plant, fixing the fluoridation process was delayed, the story said.
The city mailed notices to dentists throughout the city to let them know of the change in the water. Town residents who take supplemental fluoride can now stop, the article said.

I wonder if the 6 year olds have suffered worse dental health apart from the decline that all the States seem to be reporting? Risky business for the workers if they breathed in the fumes when it went wrong
