San Diego H20 Gets Fluoride
LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO) -- A long-delayed plan to fluoridate San Diego's drinking water has gone into effect today. The Metropolitan Water District has been planning the move since 2003, and originally set July of this year as the start time for the treated water. However, plant construction delayed the implementation until today.
Fluoridation is the chemical treatment of water to prevent tooth decay.
The MWD uses fluorosilicic acid to provide fluoridation.
