On Wednesday October 15th 2014, Conservative councillor Alison Foster put forward a motion on behalf of Fluoride Free Bedford (FFB) that would effectively put plans to re-fluoridate the town on hold. The town's population has been consuming fluoridated water since approximately the year 1970 without any formal review of the health dangers or impacts.
FFB's motion was passed at the meeting under the watchful gaze of members of the group. In November, Conscience Communications spoke to Cynthia Bagchi from FFB, who revealed that the Council had changed the wording of the motion in the minutes of the meeting quite significantly. She explains here exactly what happened.
